INFRARED THERMOGRAPHY

Infrared Thermography (IRT) is a non-destructive testing (NDT) method that uses specialized infrared cameras to detect thermal radiation emitted by objects, revealing surface temperature variations invisible to the naked eye.

By analysing these thermal patterns, subsurface anomalies such as cracks, voids, delaminations, or electrical faults can be identified. The detected infrared energy is converted into a visual image (thermogram) that highlights temperature differences. Thermography can be performed using passive methods, relying on natural temperature variations, or active methods, where an external heat source is applied to enhance defect visibility.
